EDUCATING RIDERS IN THE ACT OF SPORTSMANSHIP AND CAMARARDERIE WHILE IN ATTENDANCE AT EVENTS AND WHILE DURING TRAINING OR RACING.
With the increase in motorcycle use in Western Canada, the interest in racing or performance track riding has also increased. While there are numerous providers in the sport, the key element missing for the vast majority is training riders correctly. Many times, riders are introduced to a track environment with little or no knowledge of how to operate their machine at racing speeds. They are unsure of the correct lines through track corners (which differ from road corners) and have not had the chance to master various race braking techniques.
This, coupled with a lack of track etiquette knowledge, leads to a very unsafe operation of the event and machinery, with potential to significantly increase the risk of collisions between riders and/or track limits and of course, frustration or anger between attendees.
Alberta Race Academy is unique in our approach to operations.
We aim to provide in depth training to our clients, prior to them being allowed to put the techniques into practice in controlled track sessions. We will begin with basic motorcycle operation and focus on developing and practicing specific areas of riding such as body position, throttle/brake use, cornering options, before moving into consistent lapping of the track. This will be done under the strict supervision of experienced instructors with backgrounds in international racing, police service rider training; motorcycle advanced riding instructors and industry professionals. We are supported by a dedicated track marshal team, trained in first aid, motorcycle related trauma care, firefighting and track operations.
In additional to the mechanics of racing, we also provide unique training and insights into the mental and physiological aspects of becoming a successful racer.
Once a client has mastered the basic skills required for track or race riding, they will be invited to attend a qualifying test before being allowed to advance to the next level of the curriculum.
Our overall aim is to provide maximum safety while promoting exciting riding opportunities for all.
